The frustration before the breakthrough — hands on piano

Does this sound familiar?

You sit down at the piano. Your fingers touch the keys. And then... Silence.

Not the beautiful kind. The kind that says: I don't know what to play.

So you play the same as always. The same patterns. The same chords. Or you open YouTube and follow those falling lights again. Note by note. Exactly as it "should" be.

And yes — it sounds. But it doesn't feel. It feels like someone else's music through your hands.

Or maybe you've never played. Because you thought: I'm not musical. That's for other people.

Sound familiar? Then this workshop is for you.

What you take away from this workshop.

This workshop won't teach you songs. It won't make you a better pianist in 75 minutes. But you will take something far more valuable.

  • A clear insight into why you feel stuck — and what's really going on.

  • The Three Shifts that fundamentally change your relationship with piano.

  • An introduction to the framework of the three axes: Rhythm, Tone and Expression — and a first feel for where your focus might lie.

  • A concrete first step you can take that same evening — approaching the piano as a language, not a set of instructions.

  • A new relationship with the piano: less pressure, more play, more direction.

This workshop is not for you if…

  • You only want to reproduce pieces exactly as written.
  • You're not open to experimenting or listening deeply.
  • You're looking for shortcuts instead of real freedom.
"Blimey — he actually got the keyboard out of the garage and has been trying to play from ear!! Progress!!"

— Katharine · Mother of a 12-year-old · After one workshop session

The pianist who never read a note.

Hi, I'm Seb. I've been playing piano for 26 years. Entirely by ear. I never learned sheet music.

It started with When the Saints Go Marching In. A MIDI recording from my uncle, slowed to 20% speed. Note by note, by ear. Nobody was teaching me. I was discovering. That was my music school.

Years later, I moved to Spain. I didn't take language classes — I just lived there, surrounded by real Spanish every day. In eight months, I was fluent. Not from a textbook. From immersion. That was the moment I understood what had happened with music. Same method, different instrument.

"You don't need to read music to play it. You just need to learn to listen."

That approach took me to the grand stages of the Netherlands — resident pianist at five-star hotels including Hotel de L'Europe and the Kurhaus, performing for international celebrities and heads of state, entirely by ear. No sheet music. Ever. It worked so well I built a company around it: Exclusive Pianists, specialised in background music built on that same freedom.

Song of the Heart is that method, made into a workshop — accessible to everyone who ever felt like music education wasn't built for the way they think.

Seb at the piano, warm and open expression

Any questions?

No. The workshop is for everyone: from complete beginner to advanced pianist. The method works at every level because it starts with how you listen, not with what you already know.
The workshop is free and full of content. At the end I'll invite you for a personal conversation if you want to discover how to work with the method further. No pressure, no trick.
YouTube and Synthesia teach you to reproduce: you play back what you see. Song of the Heart teaches you to interpret: you play what you hear and feel. The difference? After a YouTube tutorial you can play one song. After this method you can approach any song as your version.
Especially then. "Not musical" usually means: haven't had the right training yet. Rhythm, tone and expression are trainable — just like learning a language. All you need is the desire to discover it.
75 to 90 minutes. Live on Zoom — first Monday of the month at 7 PM CEST. Next: Monday, April 6th.
Yes, everyone who registers receives access to the replay.
The investment is your attention and presence.

There's a song in you. Let's find it.

You didn't read this by accident. Somewhere inside you know: there's more. More than notes, more than patterns, more than copying.

The free Method Workshop is your first step. 75 minutes that change how you look at piano — and at yourself.
